I created branding for local comedians’ podcast called, “Does this age well?”. The podcast featured three local comedians who would humorously discuss how different types of media—old movies, books, music—have aged.

In terms of process, first I started out by researching other similar podcasts to see what was out there and how could mine be different. After that, I created a mood board. I set some guiding podcast descriptions to keep in mind when designing.

I knew I wanted to include hand-drawn elements with personality for the design. I decided to draw the hosts because their personalities make the show unique.

This is the typography logo I arrived on. I wanted something bold and loud to speak to their personalities. I was also trying to keep the typography in high contrast to the hand drawn faces. Because the show plays with time and old media, I wanted to allude to that passing of time with the position of the ‘age’ and the black trail behind it.

Here are some of my formal branding decisions. I wanted the typography to be bold and loud like the comedians, and the color palette to be warm and friendly like the tone of the show.

And from there, I designed how I wanted the podcast to look across a variety of mediums. This is what I proposed for the logo art that you would see on a phone.

Here’s how I envision this brand to look in a social media account.

Here are alternative media compositions like posters and tee-shirts.

Lastly, I created an animation for this podcast as it is actually a video podcast. Being that this is a video podcast, I imagined each episode would open with this:
